📣 Community Announcement!
I am excited to share the Venture Capital Fund Database of Funds Investing in Mexico-based startups. The database features 200 funds from around the world including top global investors like Accel, a16z, and Sequoia & specialists like Kaszek, Better Tomorrow Ventures, and Rali Cap. While this database is one simple resource for founders, many new funds have sprouted in the region and U.S. funds have started to invest more globally. As the region continues to grow, I hope to support creating a fertile ground for more founders to launch and grow their companies in Mexico & Latin America. One of these elements is access to capital & fundraising resources.
📈 The Rise of Latin America
Latin America is the fast-growing region in the world for VC funding (Crunchbase)
In 2021, there was 320% YoY growth with $19.5B of capital invested in the region (Crunchbase)
In Mexico, there has been an accretion of unicorns in the last year to now include: Bitso, Clara, Clip, Kavak, Konfio, Incode, Merama, and Nowports (Contxto)
🇲🇽 The Future of Mexico
With an influx of capital flowing into the region, the Mexican startup ecosystem is still laying the groundwork that will be foundational for the entrepreneurs to come. There are greater challenges founders face while building their business, but making an investor wishlist for one’s fundraising round should not be one of them. This was the inspiration that led me to build a community database of Venture Capital Funds investing in Mexico-based startups.
